We turned Volkswagen
magazine into a brand people want to follow.

We created a platform that works for partners,
ambassadors and innovation.

What started as an adaptation of a magazine from Volkswagen’s German headquarters became a publication with fully local content for a Czech audience. More than 13 years later, dealers and customers still know it well. For dealers, it helps build loyalty and stronger client relationships.
For customers, it turns them into Volkswagen brand fans.

We turned a German base into a brand platform for Czech customers.

Original, authentic content

From the start, we chose not to copy the parent magazine. Instead, we focused on original, locally relevant content for Czech Volkswagen drivers and fans.

The group’s only print magazine

Today, the Czech Volkswagen Magazine is
the only official printed magazine in the entire Volkswagen Group. It has outlived its original German model by eight years.

A space for change and innovation

The magazine works as a clear and customer-friendly way to communicate
the changes and innovations happening
at Volkswagen, including the brand’s shift to electromobility.

Focused on the Czech market

We enriched the content with lifestyle sections that reflect the local cultural context. We also brought in Czech photographers such as Matěj Třešňák, Václav Jirásek and Adriana Fialová.

For dealers and partners

The magazine also serves as a platform for Volkswagen’s partnerships and ambassadors, including names like Petr Čech and Natálie Kotková.

One content source, many uses

We also use magazine topics and articles as a core source of content for social media,
the website and newsletters. It helps us make the most of media partnerships, too.

The challenge

Volkswagen wanted to reach Czech customers through

a printed magazine, give local partners their own space,
and share product news and innovations. That would have been difficult to achieve while keeping the original concept and layout of the German version.

  • How do you adapt a foreign-language magazine for a Czech audience without losing its original value and meaning?
  • How do you turn corporate publishing into content that people actively want to read?
  • How do you support local partners organically,
without making the magazine feel like branded PR?

The solution

The key was not to stop at translation, but to fully transform the magazine for the Czech cultural environment. That meant reworking the concept, making the topics more relevant to local readers, and building our own production of authentic content.

  • We kept the original spirit, but handled the rest – the layout, sections and photography – in our own Czech production.
  • We gave readers what they genuinely enjoy: lifestyle stories, practical tips, large-format photography and interviews, all with a clear Volkswagen feel.
  • We also invited some ambassadors, such as Lukáš Hejlík, to contribute directly to the magazine.

Plenty of awards, too
